The purpose of the Masters Series Leadership Program is to develop the leadership competencies necessary to successfully lead our #1 hospital through the many changes occuring in the health care environment. The target audience is mid-level managers with programmatic responsibilities.
Change Management serves as the foundation for this five-day program. Participants learn through a combination of assessment, discussion, skill practice, practical application and sharing ideas with one another. Topics include:
- Change Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Decision Making
- Emotional intelligence
- Systems Thinking
- Diversity and Inclusion
Participants, also, identify a project on which to focus throughout the program. Each participant leaves the program with a preliminary business case for their project.

Target Audience: faculty and administrative managers
- Three or more years management experience inside or outside the organization and one year after completing UMHS Foundations for Successful Leadership training. This requirement will ensure that the participants are working from the same foundation of supervisory knowledge and will have had the opportunity to apply the learning from Foundations.
Responsibility: currently in a management role overseeing a business unit or program with three or more staff members.
