The UMICH Account Management service allows any current member of the U-M community with a uniqname to reset their own UMICH password (Level-1 password at U-M Health System) if forgotten. The ITS Service Center will also continue to provide password reset assistance.
Effective February 24, 2018, if you use the Campus ITS UMICH Account Management system to reset your UMICH (Level-1) password yourself, you will be able to do so without having to remember answers to your security questions. The security questions process has been retired, and you'll be asked instead to verify your identity by providing either your UMID number or your date of birth. Other than that, the process for resetting a forgotten password yourself will remain the same. You still need to have previously provided an external email address for account recovery. A password reset code is sent to that address after you verify your identity.
NOTE: This change is only when resetting your UMICH (Level-1) password online at UMICH Account Management. If you choose to reset your UMICH (Level-1) password using the Michigan Medicine Profile Page, you will only need to enter your Michigan Medicine (Level-2) password. Once logged in, select Security Settings to reset your password.
The original Change UMICH Password page has moved into the new UMICH Account Management website and ITS webpages have been updated with the new URL. The old page redirects to the new one, but bookmarks and links to the original Change UMICH Password should be updated to point to the new UMICH Account Management website when possible.
